Why this exists

Insurers require a sworn, itemized personal-property inventory before they pay contents claims — often within 60–90 days. State insurance departments describe "numerous complaints from policyholders about the monumental task of attempting to identify every item." The tools people are given: a blank spreadsheet, or apps that want photos of possessions that no longer exist. ClaimList replaces the blank page with a catalog you tap through, room by room, the way you remember your home.

Honest by design: every price we pre-fill is an editable mid-range replacement estimate — a starting point, clearly yours to correct. You see your entire list, item by item, with the full total, before any payment. The $12 buys the export files, not access to your own list.

Tips that protect your claim

Go room by room from memory, then do a second pass with old photos, videos, and shopping history (Amazon orders, email receipts).
Claim replacement cost — what it costs to buy the item new today — if your policy is RCV (most are). Note ages honestly in the age column.
Jewelry, firearms, and art often have special sub-limits; list them anyway and ask your adjuster about limits.
Don't rush to sign a final proof of loss — you can usually supplement the list as you remember more. Keep your progress file.

Your privacy

The list of everything you own is sensitive. ClaimList runs entirely in your browser — once the page loads you can turn off Wi-Fi and it keeps working. Nothing is uploaded, ever. Only the payment itself talks to Stripe.
